American hall of fame trainer, Johnathan Sheppard changed things up by sending six horses over to Ireland back in November for the winter season. The horses are based with Bluegrass Horse Feed customer, James Doyle in Wexford and trained by Keri Brion
Johnathan Sheppard recently announced his retirement from American racing at the start of January, his amazing career included 25- time US champion trainer and the first trainer to win the American steeplechase Triple Crown.
With lots planned for these horses, the goal is to run WINSTON C, at Cheltenham in March and FRENCH LIGHT was the first of the six horses to race, coming second at Clonmel despite the conditions yesterday (Tuesday 19th January). We are looking forward to following these horses and Keri through the season.
To avoid any massive changes to their diets, the Bluegrass Horse Feed nutritional team worked with the grooms to identify a feed that would suit the horse’s requirements when in Ireland. Bluegrass Race 13 mix was recommended as a high energy performance mix, containing highly digestible cereals, high-quality protein sources, and optimal vitamins and minerals to support recovery and performance.
