Kenneth Irwin

Managing Director

Kenneth Irwin is the Managing Director of Bluegrass Horse Feeds and Irwin's Feeds. The Irwin family have been involved in milling since 1847. In those times Irwins processed oats for people to eat following the potato famine. After World War Two the millers switched their attention to local grain to manufacture feed for animals. But it was in the 1990s that Kenneth identified a need for scientifically formulated horse feed which would empower owners, riders and trainers achieve optimum performance regardless of the equine discipline. Kenneth approach Kentucky Equine Research and Bluegrass Horse Feeds was accepted as Ireland's official Team Member. Since then, Kenneth has been leading a team from Co Tyrone to develop Bluegrass Horse Feeds which today has a reputation as one of the top horse feed producers in Ireland. In his spare time, Kenneth enjoys time with his family as well as breeds and shows heavyweight Clydesdales.

Craig Kileff

Bluegrass Feed Consultant

Craig Kileff is a feed consultant and sales representative for Bluegrass Horse Feeds and spends his time travelling the length and breadth of Ireland dealing directly with customers and merchants. Craig grew up in an agricultural community in Zimbabwe and has worked at racing and starting yards in the UK and his home country. He has a wealth of experience and personally knows the value of our feeds. He has seen the results of good nutrition in terms of his own horses' workloads, recovery times and behaviour. He regularly competes on polocrosse pitches and regularly attends Pony Club events with his children.

Graeme Cather

Manager

Graeme is the Manager at Bluegrass Horse Feeds and has worked for the company for five years. He learns every day from his father-in-law Kenneth in terms of the many different aspects of the job of being a leading feed manufacturer from managing the sales and marketing team, the administration team, the mills, sponsorships and fleet.

This has seen Bluegrass join the world's leading research centre in equine nutrition, Kentucky Equine Research (KER). Bluegrass Horse Feeds are Ireland's exclusive KER Team Member: thus joining an international network of horse feed manufacturers devoted to the advancement of equine nutrition.

Based in the heartland of the American thoroughbred industry in Kentucky, KER conducts extensive research in equine nutrition and exercise physiology. Each research trail is designed to improve the health, performance and well-being of all horses. As such, all Bluegrass feeds, formulas and product development programmes are underpinned and complemented by the world-renowned research and expertise of KER.
