Long-time employee for over 10 years, Craig Kileff reflects on the past year and looks forward to an exciting 2019.
This year marked Bluegrass Horse Feeds 20th anniversary giving me the perfect opportunity to reflect on the years I’ve worked in the family owned business.
The team have welcomed new members this year, which have brought a youthful enthusiasm injecting a new sense of vigour into an already dynamic team. The staff work hard to provide top customer service and products, have been established for many years serving equine customers of 20 years and agricultural customers for over 170 years and is always growing welcoming new members to the family run business.
Both Balmoral and Dublin Horse show are leading highlights in our calendar. Bluegrass Horse Feeds proudly sponsored Schools jumping championship at Balmoral show for the second year. It is guaranteed to start the Saturday of the four day show off with entertainment and excitement, we are looking forward to sponsoring this class again in 2019. The launch of Turmash at Dublin Horse Show, developed by our managing director, Kenneth Irwin, in conjunction with the Kentucky Equine Research team, was a great success. Turmash has found its place in the market, it is suitable for all types of horses and the testimonies are speaking for themselves on how great this product is.
Sponsorship has continued between Portmore Equestrian Centre and Bluegrass Horse Feeds, with the Bluegrass Indoor and Outdoor arenas. Fantastic shows have been hosted at this top class facility throughout the year under the proprietary care of Rafael and Chantal Suarez. Portmore Equestrian Centre host shows from registered show jumping to grass roots training shows to Grand Prix, it is always a great place to meet and support customers and sponsored riders.
I started the year with my son joining the North Downs for their annual New Year’s Day meet and we plan to end the year with the County Down Hounds on boxing day. In 2018, polocrosse did not feature as highly on our equestrian calendar as in previous years. A change in disciplines to dressage and showjumping, proved to have some mixed results but a lot of fun was had along the way. My aspirations in 2019 are to continue in a similar direction with hopefully a bit of progress made in my showjumping.
I am looking forward to an exciting year with Bluegrass Horse Feeds, it’s going to be a busy year for the team. Make sure to keep up to date with our Facebook page for the latest news and results from our brilliant customers.
Happy Christmas to you all and a prosperous 2019.
